This is an on-site and full-time position in Waltham, MA. The Team
The In Vitro Discovery team is a collaborative group driving antibody discovery and optimization using cutting-edge technologies. We work cross-functionally to advance therapeutic solutions, maintaining scientific rigor and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The Role
As an Associate Scientist, you will contribute to antibody discovery and optimization campaigns using state-of-the-art in vitro platforms. This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in molecular biology and antibody discovery techniques. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advance projects and deliver high-quality results.

This role will report to the head of in vitro discovery and optimization, with autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects, and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. 

How You’ll Drive Impact
  • Advance antibody discovery and optimization efforts through innovative in vitro strategies
  • Deliver high-quality experimental data supporting lead identification and engineering.
  • Foster effective cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Manage multiple projects with scientific rigor and organizational efficiency.
  • Contribute to Alloy’s culture of innovation and teamwork. 
Principle responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to support antibody discovery and engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align project goals and timelines.
  • Document and communicate experimental findings clearly to stakeholders and teams.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of in vitro platforms and workflows.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high scientific standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in molecular biology and related techniques.
  • Support high-throughput screening and assay development efforts.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and scientific advances in the field.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient laboratory environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, PCR, sequencing).
  • Hands-on experience with yeast/phage/mammalian display platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to work effectively in collaborative settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and contribute to multiple projects in parallel.
  • Preferred experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, NGS sequencing and high-throughput screening
  •  Ability to work across various US and international time zones.

Pay Transparency
At Alloy Therapeutics, we believe in fostering trust and open communication. For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is $94,500 - $104,000, with the final offer based on factors like your experience, skills, and alignment with our needs.

Additionally, this role is eligible for equity compensation, reflecting our commitment to shared success as we work together to make better medicines.
