Incubated in 82VS, Alloy Therapeutics’ affiliated venture studio, Aakha Biologics was created through a collaborative partnership model that leverages access to Alloy’s ATX-Gx™ transgenic mouse, suite of antibody discovery platforms, and discovery services. Aakha Biologics is building best-in-class antibody-based assets to redirect immune cells and tackle cancers that escape immune surveillance. 

Aakha Biologics is looking for a motivated scientist to join our team in Frisco, Texas. The position will report directly to the CEO of the company and work as a lead member of the antibody discovery and preclinical development team. A major focus will be on planning and execution of in vivo assays to generate proof of concept data. You will use your knowledge and experiences in immuno-oncology to design and conduct experiments with the ultimate goal of make better medicines faster.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Play a key role in the development of antibody-based biologics for cancer immunotherapy
  • Taking a leadership role in managing preclinical projects from discovery to IND enabling studies
  • Independently design, troubleshoot, and establish in vivo mouse models including, but not limited to syngeneic, immunodeficient, and humanized mouse cancer models
  • Independently design, troubleshoot, and execute in vitro and ex vivo assays to narrow down promising hits from large antibody panels
  • Compile and present data on a timely basis to upper management
  • Work as a member of the team to implement experimental plans and support others when needed
  • Being generous when others are needy, greedy, or fearful

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • PhD in immunology or related field (2+ years of post-PhD experience is preferred) or MS in immunology or related field with 6+ years of post-MS experience
  • Prior experience in handling and performing functional assays with primary T and NK cells
  • Prior experience in different syngeneic and transgenic mouse models
  • Experience in multi-color flow cytometry
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through on deadline-driven projects to completion
  • Agility in a fast-paced start up environment
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in relationships with external and internal stakeholders, with respect and professionalism
  • Superb oral and written communication skills
